Once you have completed the First Steps for the Redtail Integration, you will need to login as an Administrator to start the Redtail to inStream integration. After logging in as an Administrator, go to the Integrations tab where you will find Redtail under the CRM section. Click Edit to input your Redtail credentials. The administrator will need to enter the firm’s Redtail Database Owner’s (DBO) credentials and click Connect to Redtail.
You will receive a 'Success!' notification if the correct DBO credentials are entered. You will now be able to see all of your Redtail contacts and accounts when you login as an Advisor the next day.
Your firm’s users will now have access to the Redtail Integration if they enter their own set of Redtail credentials while logged in as Advisors (described below).
Note: The next steps are only necessary for other advisors in your firm, or if you have a second set of credentials that are permissioned to only see a sub-set of clients. Click here to learn more.
Next, login as an Advisor to enter your Redtail advisor credentials.
Go to the Settings tab and click on Integrations.
Navigate to the CRM tab and click the Edit button. Enter your set of Redtail credentials and click Connect to Redtail. When you see the success notification, the Redtail integration is now setup. You will now be able to see all of your Redtail contacts and accounts when you login as an Advisor the next day.
Important Note: All contacts will be visible to the advisor who uses the DBO credentials. This means inStream will pull in every contact from Redtail CRM including clients, non-clients, and even people on your newsletter mailing lists. If you would like to avoid this, you can:
Link that new Redtail user to inStream when you are logged in as an Advisor by following the steps outlined above. You can find more on managing your Redtail database users and teams by visiting Redtail support here.
